Palestine's COVID-19 Vaccination Programs Begin

ANSA reported the Sputnik V vaccine arrived at Ben Gurion airport on February 4, 2021, and is being transferred to the Palestinian National Authority (PNA). The Palestinian government has also purchased two million Sputnik V vaccine doses, the arrival of which is "expected in Palestine during late February, and they will be able to vaccinate one million people. The vaccinations will occur in 45 centers spread throughout the West Bank and Gaza.

On February 3rd, the Palestinian health minister began a vaccination program in the occupied West Bank with the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, according to Xinhuanet. The Palestinian government has also purchased AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines that will arrive in Palestine during the coming months.

The Palestine Ministry announced there had been 180,688 COVID-19 cases and about 2,042 related fatalities since March 2020.
