Don Ward Hackett
Don Ward Hackett serves as the publisher for the Precision Vax information network. Don first entered the news industry in 1967, when he began selling the Philadelphia Bulletin after grade school in Ardmore, PA. His focus on vaccines began with the completion of the Human Genome project in 2003, which forecasted scientific breakthroughs and the future delivery a personalized medicine and vaccines.
More recently, Donald has been publishing digital health information for patients and healthcare providers. Since 1996, Don has helped launch digital companies such as Physician Computer Network, drKoop.com, 1-800-Doctors, myDNA, Mirixa, Digital Pharmacist, and Precision Vax.
'We believe vaccine information should be based upon unbiased research since it is a science-driven industry impacting most people's lives. Moreover, vaccine news should be written in a 'positive' voice, with a neutral industry 'tone', encouraging relevant patient-provider conversations.
Donald has served on the advisory boards of the FDA Vaccine Advisory Task Force, CDC Vaccine Information Project, University of Texas College of Pharmacy, Texas eHealth Alliance, CMS Pharmacist eCare Plan, CDC's Immunization Information System, and was a founding member of the HIPAA work-group in 1995.
