Venezuela Registers the Sputnik V Vaccine

The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) announced on January 13, 2021, the Ministry of Health of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has registered the Sputnik V Vaccine, which was previously registered in Argentina, Bolivia, Serbia, Algeria, and Palestine.
Venezuela's vaccine supplies will be secured through international partners in India, China, South Korea, and other countries said this RDIF press release.
Additionally, Reuters reported on January 14, 2021, Russia would submit a formal application to the European Union in February to gain approval for Sputnik V.
Sputnik V is a vector vaccine based on adenovirus DNA, in which the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus gene is integrated. Adenovirus is used as a “container” to deliver the coronavirus gene to cells and start the synthesis of the new coronavirus's envelope proteins, “introducing” the immune system to a potential enemy.
