Due to current coronavirus case reporting, exceptional measures have been introduced in Paris, France, to combat the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Since August 10, 2020, wearing a face mask in some public areas is compulsory for most people. Not complying with this instruction may lead to a fine of 135 euros.
The BBC reported on August 28, 2020, French President Emmanuel Macron said: 'he could not rule out a second lockdown but said he’s trying not to wreck the country’s fragile economic recovery. And, 'containment is the crudest of measures to fight this virus urging people to be “collectively very rigorous.”
