South Korea Discusses Purchasing 40 Million COVID-19 Vaccines

Massachusettes-based Moderna, Inc. confirmed it is in discussions with South Korea's government to potentially provide 40 million or more doses of the experimental Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine (mRNA-1273). Under the terms of the proposed agreement, vaccine distribution would begin in the second quarter of 2021.

The Moderna COVID‑19 Vaccine has not been approved or licensed by the US FDA but was authorized for emergency use by the FDA on December 18, 2020.

The FDA stated on December 20th; people should not get the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine if they had a severe allergic reaction after a previous dose of this vaccine or have a severe allergic reaction to any ingredient of this vaccine.
