Study: COVID-19 Outcomes of Pregnant Women and Infants Found Favorable

A pregnancy study published in Open Forum Infectious Diseases on August 13, 2020, reviewed 11,308 cases of SARS-CoV-2 infections and/or COVID-19 disease when pregnant showed that health outcomes were generally favorable for both the mothers and newborns. Maternal and neonatal survival were reassuring (98%) and (99%), respectively.

However, of those expecting mothers reporting disease severity, (21%) were classified as severe/critical.
