New Yorkers To Continue Eating Out-Side
New York City (NYC) Mayor Bill de Blasio announced on August 20, 2020, that the city didn’t have a set timeline for a return to indoor dining because of the risk of coronavirus spreading when indoors. The response was prompted the NYC Hospitality Alliance demanded the city release an indoor dining plan, reported Eater.com on August 20, 2020.
NYC's government currently says 'do whatever else you can to avoid long wait times before you get a table and order. And keep your face covering on at all times when you are not eating and drinking.'
NYC's Office of Nightlife serves as a central point of contact among the nightlife industry, which was is a vital part of the city's economy, culture, and identity, supporting nearly 300,000 jobs and generating $35.1 billion in economic impact prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
