Smoking Identified As Increased COVID-19 Mortality Risk

A study published by PLOS One on November 3, 2020, found substantial age-related variability in COVID-19 related fatalities. These researchers report increased mortality risks due to shortness of breath and smoking were higher in studies with patients 60 years or younger.

This finding suggests the need for specific attention to younger patients who have a pulmonary impairment.
