A new case-control investigation of symptomatic outpatients from healthcare facilities found that close contact with persons with known for going to locations that offer on-site eating and drinking options were associated with COVID-19 positivity. And adults with positive SARS-CoV-2 test results were approximately 2x as likely to have reported dining at a restaurant, reported the U.S. CDC on September 11, 2020.
And on September 14, 2020, a new analysis of cell phone data from the Washington Post shows that states that reopened bars saw a doubling of COVID-19 cases 3-weeks later.
