Is The Sputnik V Vaccine Safe?

An editorial published by the BMJ on August 24, 2020, says 'The main concern is that the Russian vaccine - Sputnik V - has not yet been through a phase III clinical trial. Such a trial, typically involving over 10,000 volunteers and comparing the vaccine with placebo, would seek to prove vaccine efficacy as well as safety.'
